Building on open standards, LedgerDomain and Legisym deliver enhanced verification and interoperable tracing powered by DSCSA digital credentials

Los Angeles, CA, March 2, 2023 — LedgerDomain, a decentralized healthcare solutions provider, today announced a strategic partnership with Legisym, a key provider of regulatory compliance credentialing. With less than 9 months until the complete Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) requirements come into effect, LedgerDomain’s XATP digital wallet solution powered by Legisym credentialing drives a full suite of compliance use cases.

By November 27, 2023, Authorized Trading Partners (ATPs) in the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain will be required to exchange product compliance information, including drug verification and tracing data. As board members of the Open Credentialing Initiative (OCI) and members of the Partnership for DSCSA Governance (PDG), LedgerDomain and Legisym support the use of W3C-specified Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs), GS1 messaging standards and data attributes, and open standards to achieve safe and secure credentialing and information exchange between ATPs.

With today’s announcement, ATPs can now purchase OCI-compliant Legisym credentials as part of their XATP Enterprise Digital Wallet onboarding. This is the cornerstone of LedgerDomain’s DSCSA Control Tower, the real-time one-stop DSCSA compliance hub.

The XATP wallet drives four essential activities for stakeholders to meet their DSCSA compliance goals:

  • ATP Status Confirmation. Exchange credentials with direct and indirect trading partners to meet compliance requirements.
  • Credential-Secured Verification. Integrations with VRS providers for secure verification of drug packages, supporting saleable returns and suspect & illegitimate product investigations.
  • Fallback Email Verification. Legisym-issued verifiable credentials transform ordinary emails into secure archivable messages, both to support source data alignment and to resolve use cases quickly and seamlessly.
  • Interoperable Tracing. Secure credentialed emails combined with PDG’s open tracing schema allow stakeholders to request and respond with confidence.

“With only nine months to deliver DSCSA compliance, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work,” said David Kessler, President at Legisym. “The XATP Digital Wallet serves as a ‘TSA pre-check’ for ATPs seeking to secure the pharmaceutical supply chain, both through established channels and fit-for-purpose emails secured by verifiable credentials.”

“Under the DSCSA, the entire US pharmaceutical supply chain will be interconnected like never before,” said LedgerDomain CEO Ben Taylor. “To ensure interoperability between disparate trading partners, industry bodies such as PDG have recognized decentralized credentials as the preferred path forward. We’re excited to work with Legisym to deliver credential-driven solutions to help customers achieve their compliance goals.”

About Legisym

For over a decade, Legisym has successfully provided the pharmaceutical industry with affordable and effective regulatory compliance technologies. In early 2020, driven by the 2023 ATP requirements, Legisym began leveraging their existing Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS) and license verification technologies and experience, to engage as a credential issuer. By performing thorough credential issuer due diligence processes, first to establish a root of trust, Legisym promotes confidence in the trading partner’s digital identity prior to the issuance of ATP credentials.
